This Privacy Policy describes how OPPA ("we", "our", "us") collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use our mobile application and related services (the "Service"). By using OPPA, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information we collect
You provide directly:
- Account: email/username, password (stored hashed), name, gender, date of birth
- Profile: photos, self-introduction, location (city), language proficiency, religion, hobbies, lifestyle keywords, height, occupation, education, looking-for preferences
- Communications: messages you send to other users, reports you submit
Collected automatically:
- Device and connection: IP address, OS version, app version, user agent
- Usage: actions taken in the app (likes, matches, messages sent), timestamps
2. How we use information
- Provide and personalize the Service (matching, search, profile display)
- Verify identity, prevent fraud, enforce community guidelines, investigate reports
- Communicate with you about your account and the Service
- Improve and develop new features
- Comply with legal obligations
3. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share limited information only as follows:
- With other users: profile information you have entered (name, age, photos, introduction, etc.) is visible to other OPPA users
- Service providers: hosting, email delivery, analytics — bound by confidentiality
- Legal: when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and property
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger or acquisition, with notice
4. Your choices and rights
- Access and update: view and edit your profile in the app
- Delete account: contact us to delete your account and associated personal data
- Block / report users: use in-app block and report features
- Region-specific rights: if you reside in the EU/UK (GDPR), California (CCPA), or other regions with privacy laws, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, restrict, or object to processing of your data. Contact us to exercise these rights.
5. Data retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active. After deletion, we may retain limited information for legitimate business or legal purposes (e.g., abuse prevention) for up to 12 months.
6. Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including hashed password storage, encrypted transport (HTTPS/TLS), and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
7. Children
OPPA is for users 19 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 19. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
8. International transfers
Our servers are located in the Republic of Korea. If you access OPPA from outside Korea, your information will be transferred to and processed in Korea, which may have data protection laws different from those in your country.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app. Continued use after the effective date of the updated policy constitutes acceptance.
